1. Scope and operator
These terms apply to the website esports.telacynetwork.com and to everything you do on it, with or without an account: reading, signing in, commenting, reacting and writing in the forum.
The website is run by Telacy Esports. Who is behind it and how to reach us is set out in the legal notice. What we do with your data is explained in the privacy statement; these terms do not repeat it.
Using the website is free of charge.
2. Your account
Signing in
You can sign in with your Discord account, with your Google account or with an email address and a password. Players and staff of Telacy Esports use Discord, because their teams and roles come from our Discord server.
If you sign up with an email address, we send you a link to confirm it. Until you confirm, you can sign in and read, but you cannot post in the forum, comment, apply for a position or use the contact form as a signed-in member. If you forget your password, you can ask for a link to set a new one on the sign-in page.
After the first sign-in you choose an alias and your country. The alias is your public name on this website. You do not need to use your real name, and we recommend that you do not.
Age
You must be at least 13 years old to have an account, or older if the minimum age that Discord sets in your country is higher. If you are under 16, or under the age of digital consent in your country, a parent or guardian must agree to you using the website and your account.
When you set up your account, you confirm this with a check box, and we store the time of that confirmation. If the date of birth you give shows that you are under 13, we do not set up the account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone who is too young, we close it.
Keep your account to yourself
An account belongs to one person. Do not share your sign-in, keep your password and the accounts you sign in with safe, and do not pretend to be someone else. Tell us at contact@telacynetwork.com if you think someone else is using your account.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time on your profile with "Delete account". What happens to your comments and forum posts is set out in section 6. If you are listed in a team because of your roles on our Discord server, the team pages keep showing you until those roles are removed. Ask your team manager or contact us.
3. Guests and members
- Guests can read the public pages, news stories and the comments under them.
- Members are signed in and have finished setting up their profile (alias and country). Members can comment on news, react to stories and comments, report content, and read and write in the forum. The forum is visible to members only.
- Players and staff of our teams get further areas, such as editing their team page or the internal dashboard, depending on their role.
There is no right to a particular role or to access to a particular area.
4. Community rules
These rules apply to everything you write or upload here: comments, reactions, forum topics and posts, your alias, your bio and your profile pictures.
- No hate. Nothing that attacks people for their origin, skin colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- No harassment, insults, threats or bullying, including towards players of other teams.
- No spam: no mass posting, no repeated identical posts, no posts that only push links.
- No advertising without our permission, including for your own channels, shops, servers or services.
- No personal data of other people: no real names, addresses, phone numbers, photos or private messages of others without their consent.
- Nothing illegal, and no sexual or glorifying violent content.
- No copyright infringement: only post texts, images and links you are allowed to share.
- No fraud, and no promotion of cheats, hacks, account selling, boosting or match fixing.
- No political content: no political statements, campaigns, slogans, symbols or debates, neither in posts nor in your alias, bio or profile pictures.
Telacy Esports is a gaming community and stays politically neutral. We do not take sides on political questions, and we ask the same of everyone who writes here.
Criticism of matches, teams and decisions is welcome, as long as it is about the matter and not an attack on a person.
5. Reporting and moderation
How to report content
Every comment and every forum post has a Report button for signed-in members. A short reason helps. For anything else, or if you do not have an account, use the contact form or write to contact@telacynetwork.com. Tell us where the content is (the address of the page) and why you think it breaks the law or these rules. This address is also our point of contact for authorities. We answer in English or German.
What moderators can do
The people we have given the right to moderate check reports. They can hide or remove comments and forum posts that break these rules or the law, and close forum topics. Every such step needs a reason and is recorded internally.
Suspending accounts
If someone breaks the rules seriously or repeatedly, we can suspend their account for 1 day, 7 days, 30 days or permanently. A suspended account can still sign in and read, but cannot comment, react, post in the forum, report content or change its public profile. A suspension for a set time ends by itself. A suspension does not change roles on our Discord server or places in team rosters. In very serious cases we can also close an account.
If your content or your account is affected
If we hide or remove your content, close your topic or suspend your account, you get a notice on the website. You find it under Notices on your profile, and a dot on your account menu shows that there is something new. The notice says what was affected, when, and for which reason: one from a fixed list (hate or harassment, spam or advertising, personal data, illegal content, political content, off-topic, other), often with a short explanation. While your account is suspended, every page shows the reason and how long the suspension lasts.
If you disagree, reply to contact@telacynetwork.com or use the contact form and tell us why. Where possible, a different person from the one who decided looks at it again, and we tell you the result. If content suggests that someone's life or safety is in danger, we inform the authorities.
6. Your content
What you write and upload stays yours. You give us the simple, non-exclusive right, free of charge, to show it on this website for as long as it is published here. We do not use it anywhere else without asking you.
You can edit and delete your own comments and forum posts. Deleting your account removes your reactions under news. Your comments and forum posts stay so that discussions remain readable; they are then shown as "Deleted user" with no link to you. This also applies when we delete an account. Delete them yourself beforehand if they should go as well.
7. Public player profiles and statistics
Players and staff in the roster of a public team get a public profile
at /players/<alias>, and the team pages list them. A
profile can show:
- your alias, profile picture, banner and accent colour
- your country, your bio and the social links you add
- your teams and positions
- match results and statistics from FACEIT, and your linked FACEIT account
- your age, only if you switch on "Show my age on my profile"
Your email address, your Discord user name and your date of birth are never shown. Details are in the privacy statement.
8. Linked services
Signing in with Discord or Google and linking your FACEIT account take you to those services. Their own terms and privacy rules apply there. You can link and unlink your FACEIT account on your profile, and disconnect Discord there as well.
Match results and statistics come from FACEIT. We show them as we receive them and cannot guarantee that they are complete or correct.
9. Availability
We run this website free of charge and without a guaranteed level of availability. We may change, extend or remove features, and the website may be unavailable at times, for example during maintenance.
10. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law makes liability mandatory. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of an essential obligation, and only for the damage that was typically foreseeable.
We are not responsible for the content of external websites we link to. For content posted by members we are responsible once we learn that it breaks the law; we then remove it.
11. Shop
As soon as the shop sells products, separate terms of sale apply to purchases there.
12. Changes to these terms
When the website changes, these terms change with it. We announce significant changes on this website before they take effect. If you do not agree with them, you can delete your account.
13. Applicable law
German law applies. If you use the website as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live remain unaffected.
